Palisade peaches are Colorado's best-known agricultural product, grown in the Grand Valley of western Colorado near the town of Palisade. The region's hot days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soil produce exceptionally sweet, juicy peaches. The season runs from mid-August through September and is celebrated with the Palisade Peach Festival. Peach orchards sell direct to the public, and the fruit appears across Colorado menus — sliced in salads, grilled with pork, baked into pies, and brewed into hard cider and beer. The stone fruit identity of the Grand Valley also includes cherries, apricots, and nectarines from the same growing region.
