About this place

Vail is one of the most-visited ski resorts in the world, with 5,317 skiable acres spanning the front side, the seven Back Bowls, and Blue Sky Basin — more lift-served terrain than any other single mountain in North America. The pedestrian-only Vail Village and Lionshead Village were built in a Bavarian alpine style and anchor a dense lodging, dining, and shopping district at the base. In summer, Vail Mountain reopens for hiking, mountain biking, the Eagle Bahn gondola, and outdoor concerts at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Nearby Beaver Creek complements Vail with a more upscale, family-oriented resort experience. Vail Pass on I-70 connects to Copper Mountain and Summit County skiing.
