Steamboat Springs sits in the Yampa Valley of northwest Colorado and is known for two things — its trademarked 'Champagne Powder' snow, lighter and drier than typical Rocky Mountain snowfall, and a deep ranching heritage that gives the town a more authentic Western feel than the I-70 resort corridor. Steamboat Resort spans Mount Werner with 3,000 acres of skiing including the famous Storm Peak tree skiing. Strawberry Park Hot Springs, a short drive from town, is one of the most atmospheric natural soaking experiences in the state. Summer brings the Yampa River through the heart of downtown for tubing, the Steamboat Marathon, hot-air balloon rodeo, and access to the Routt National Forest. The Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series runs every Friday and Saturday in summer.
